China blocks Bloomberg site after report on vice-president Xi
Beijing: China has apparently blocked access to Bloomberg?s website on the mainland after the business and financial news agency published a report Friday detailing the multimillion-dollar assets of relatives of the man expected to become the country?s next president.
The report says that the extended family of Vice President Xi Jinping holds interests that include investments in companies with total assets of $376 million, an 18 percent indirect stake in a rare-earths company with $1.73 billion in assets and a $20 million holding in a tech company.

There?s no such thing as becoming the perfect creative writer. All of us can continue to learn, explore and experiment and give our creative writing more depth, impact and fulfilment, for us as the writer, as well as for our readers.
So here are 7 killer tips to help you boost YOUR creative writing even more:
1. Adopt a new identity. Imagine you?re someone else, someone completely different from yourself. It could be a character you?re familiar with already from a book, film or your daily life, or a completely new creation.
Write from their perspective about what they do, who they see, how they live and what it?s like to be them. Notice how your creative writing develops to take on this new character.
2. Become an inanimate object. Take on the perspective of an object, like a stone on a river bed, a chair in a cafe or a leaf in a tree.
Write about exactly how it feels to be this object, what goes on around you, the other objects you come in contact with, what your day to day experiences are. Write in as much rich detail as you can.
3. Get away from familiar surroundings. Go somewhere where the environment is very different to what you experience day to day.
If you live and work in a city, get out into nature. If you live in a rural area, spend some time amidst the bustle of a city. Write about what you see, hear and feel all around you, and how it?s different to what you?re used to.
4. Focus on a single sense. Spend a day noticing just what stimulation is all around you with one particular sense, like your sense of sight or smell.
Experience the world as vividly as possible through this one single sense. Write about your experiences as you go, noticing how this sense is enhanced more than usual.
5. Write in different directions. Most of us are used to writing left to right, from the top of the page to the bottom.
Mix this up by taking a large sheet of paper, starting anywhere and writing in whichever direction you wish. As you write keep changing direction, using every part of the page. Notice how the direction you write influences what you?re writing.
6. Write purely phonetically. Sometimes the sounds of words, and the rhythm of language are more interesting than the meaning of the words themselves.
Try writing a few lines of prose or poetry just focusing on how the syllables sound. You can use words from a known language or make up your own. Think of it as a song of words.
7. Play creative writing tag. Arrange with a writing friend to set up a creative writing tag game.
Begin with one of you sending a line or two of writing to the other. Then they reply, adding the next couple of lines of the story and returning it to you. Repeat the process for as long as you wish. Email works well for this as it?s almost instant and you can stay fresh and in the flow.

With the rise in technology over the past number of decades, computers have become ever easier to use. This is mainly due to the wealth of software which has been released for modern computers. Hardware capability improvements have also been very important for the easier to use models. Fine resolution color displays make reading information easier. Disk drive storage is ample for most purposes. The central core of the computer is able to easily respond to the demands put upon it by users. All of this comes at a price that is a fraction of the cost of older machines.
While it is true that computers have become easier to use, they have also become easier to program. The same advances in ease of use have resulted in gains in ease of programming. More memory is available. Central cores are faster. Simple programming techniques as widely supported. Best of all, development platforms are much cheaper than they were in years past. In fact, many of the best programming development tools are free for most purposes.
Luckily, most people can program a computer. Children, youth and adults often have the ability to program a computer. If a person can think logically, they can likely program a computer. The process is similar to the cooking process where one follows a recipe to bake a cake. The difference is that the programmer writes the recipe that makes the cake.
The ability to program a computer is especially important for children. Most children today will use computers virtually for the rest of their lives. They will be entertained by them. They will perform job functions with them. They will communicate to other people, (and computers), via technology. Most every important human endeavor relies on computing power. As children learn how to program, they make a switch from mere users to creators. The creators have the power to direct how future users will accomplish technical tasks.
Programming is easy, at the finest level. Computers understand certain instructions which tell the central core to perform certain tasks. A ?comparison? instruction is an example of one. Most programming languages implement comparisons as an if statement. ?IF? something, ?THEN? something. For example, here is a sample of such a comparison:
IF Amount > 0 THEN print ?The amount is greater than zero?
Note that the programming instruction is written in English, or at least a type of derivative of the language. Most of the programming languages are based on English. Consider the following words which are all used by various programming development environments:
IF
THEN
ELSE
BEGIN
END
SWITCH
GOTO
WHILE
EXIT
The words tell the computer to perform instructions that are related to the meaning of the word, in English. The comparison uses ?IF?, as shown. ?BEGIN? tells the computer to start a sequence of related instructions. ?WHILE? introduces a check, usually a comparison as well. Consider this ?WHILE? example:
While amount > 0
?BEGIN
?print amount
?amount = amount - 1
?END
Note that this is not an actual computer program. This fragment of code represents what a while statement might look like but it is not correct for any one language. It is, however, easily translated into a number of different programming languages.
Which Programming Language to Learn
Typically, the easiest programming languages are those that are the simplest to both understand and to use as a development platform. It is also important to use a language that has a large number of users. There may be languages that your friends or family members use. Over the past several decades, many programming languages have been introduced. Some have survived the test of time while others have faded away. Most share similarities with each other. Others are uniquely specified, such as APL, and should be avoided by beginners. Good choices for those interested in starting to learn are varieties of C, PHP, scripting and Python. These generally have the benefit of being popular and in widespread use on the Internet. For this discussion, the merits of PHP will be examined.
PHP Programming Language
While PHP was originally an acronym, it evolved into a formal name. The programming language ?C? was patterned after the language ?B?. Other languages have meaning or not. PHP is an English based language that is popular. With it, small or large applications can be created. It is widely supported on the Internet. In fact, many of the most famous, or popular, web sites rely on PHP.

Apple data centers are popping up like spring flowers: following its North Carolina, Oregon and California plans, it's now pitching a fourth data center in Sparks, Nevada, just outside of Reno. The enigmatically named Project Jonathan hub is expected to light up before the end of the year if it's given the green light. Not surprisingly, Apple is promising jobs for the area, although the company is choosing the location for a reason: it's hoping for tax breaks on top of the advantages that previously led it to funnel some of its money through Nevada. We'll have a better idea as to the fate of the data center when Apple argues for the project on June 27th, but it's reasonable to think Apple is eager to make the Sparks location a reality. The more capacity and reliability it can build into iCloud and iTunes, the better.
